Spectacular results and price increases have been a typical feature of AIX-PHILA auctions since the very beginning: the rates of sale are nearly always above 80% and the average price increase is generally over 50%... all of this in auctions featuring stamps and coins ranging from €10 per lot to prices in the region of five figures. Particularly noteworthy was the sale of a pair of Vineta Provisionals for € 34,000 (starting price € 15,000, 56 auction) as well as, for example, the hammer price of € 540 for a lot of overseas material with a starting price of € 10. By the way: a collection of Austrian material which was re-organised by our philatelists and offered for sale in approximately 500 lots fetched a total price of € 157,000 after a starting price of € 34,000.
Both sellers and bidders particularly appreciate the stating of the hammer price as well as the bidder number directly after the sale of each lot, a level of transparency which has proven its worth over the years but is nevertheless rarely encountered on the auction market.
And last but not least, a word on continuity: the core AIX-PHILA team has been working together in unchanged format since 1987!
